IANTD Essentials Course DVD shoot

In August we were asked by IANTD BOA Georges Gawinowski to help put together the DVD portion of the new IANTD Essentials course. I would be teaming up with Georges’ brother Thierry, who happens to be a very talented video producer from Merci, France. After we organized all the equipment and went through the check list, we were off from Ft. Lauderdale to Cave Country in Northern Florida. Cave Country is a term divers use to describe the large area of caves and springs west of I-75 from about Ocala to Lake City, our destination was Ginnie Springs. We arrived to greet Daehag Kim and Eunjin Jo who helped as talent. Over the course of a week, we shot a lot of underwater demos and land drills as well as an interview with legendary cave diver John Orlowski. In October we shot more skills with Oliver Paoli and Georges in the pool and ocean. Thierry has been tasked with the offline edit and designs and me, the online. Mighty Tape shoot with Billy Mays

In June we were asked by Hutton Miller LLC to produce/shoot an underwater demo for the Mighty Tape product with host Billy Mays a week before he passed. Billy was no stranger to the Hutton Miller team and myself, having worked with him many times before and considered a friend. Billy was a great man and will be missed. Hutton Miller has produced all the Mighty products, which I was called in to edit on a few. I’ve also edited the Big City Slider Station product for the Schwartz Group in 2008.

It was a perfect morning, the ocean was glass flat and the sun shining. My crew of divers were Georges Gawinowski, Scott Blair, Doug Barkley and we used Parrot Island Charters boat the Fish Food. Here are some of the production photos.
